Fix the system, and the problem stays fixed.

Fractional CTO and systems leadership for growing companies. We connect your platforms and build the tools, websites and apps you need, then lead your team in using them well.

The question behind every engagement

“What system allowed this to happen?”

A missed payroll deadline, a failed audit, a new hire who never got trained. Each one is a symptom. We trace it back to the process, tool or handoff that let it through, then rebuild that piece so it holds. The judgment is the product, not the keystrokes.

Services

We build the system, and we help your people run it.

Technology fixes half the problem. The other half is a team that knows the system and works together around it.

The systems

  • Integration and data

Payroll, telematics, finance and operations platforms connected through their own APIs, and broken spreadsheets rebuilt into data that holds.

The outcomeData moves once, correctly, and the numbers are ones you can run payroll on.

  • Internal tools and automation

Small tools and AI-assisted workflows that take recurring work off your staff, with people still making the calls.

The outcomeHours returned every week, documented so your team can run it.

  • Websites and mobile apps

Company websites, customer portals and mobile apps, designed and built to fit how your business actually runs.

The outcomeA site and app built by people who already know your systems, so they connect to them.

  • Systems strategy and vendor review

A senior technical read on what to build, buy or drop, and whether a vendor quote is fair.

The outcomeSoftware spend that matches what the tools are worth.

The people

  • Training and adoption

Hands-on training, written procedures and follow-up until your team uses the new system without a workaround.

The outcomeA system people actually use, documented so the next hire learns it too.

  • Playbooks and SOPs

Standard operating procedures written with the 4S Model, so every process has a home and a named owner.

The outcomeWork that runs the same way on a busy Monday and when someone is out.

  • Team building and leadership

We bring your people together around the system: clear roles, handoffs that hold and steady leadership through the change.

The outcomeA team that pulls in one direction when the way you work changes.

Playbooks · The 4S Model

Every process gets a home, so nothing lives in one person's head.

We write your playbooks with the 4S Model, the framework Tom developed over 25 years of building organizations, drawing on his mentors and the teams he has led. Four levels take you from the whole company down to the steps someone follows on a Tuesday morning.

  1. Silos

The few major areas the whole organization divides into.

  2. Segments

The functions inside each silo, each with someone responsible for it.

  3. Stacks

[One line on what a Stack holds]

  4. Steps

The written procedure itself: what to do, in order, reviewed and approved before anyone relies on it.

We build one silo at a time, in order of pain, and move each approved Steps document into the tools your team already works in.

How we work

Three ways in, priced by the project.

Start here

Systems audit

A discovery call, then a bounded look at one problem. You get written findings with the fixes ranked by cost and payoff.

Fixed-price projects

Defined fixes

An integration rescue, an operational data rebuild, a website or app build, a team training program or a vendor and software cost review. One scope, one price, agreed before work starts.

Monthly retainer

Ongoing oversight

A fractional CTO on call: systems oversight, priority access and the next problem taken on each month. Retainer places are limited.

From the field

A payroll integration stalled for nine months, closed without the $16K connector.

A Connecticut transportation and scrap metal operator had two vendors and two paid consults on the problem. The fix was in the API documentation.

WHAT ELSE CAME OUT OF IT

  • Payroll and telematics data now flow between platforms, with no added connector
  • A vendor quote caught at three to five times the vendor's own published price
  • Dispatch, timecard and attendance data rebuilt into systems that hold
  • A grant and funding scan that surfaced named programs worth millions

Government and prime contractors

A Connecticut small business, ready to quote.

Management and operations consulting for towns, cities and state agencies, as prime or as a subcontractor on a larger award.

About

Built by people who have run the systems.

Tom Miyashiro

Tom Miyashiro · Business Systems Architect

Tom founded his first organization at 19 and has spent the 25 years since building teams, budgets and the systems that hold them together.

Since 2025 he has run systems for a Connecticut transportation and scrap metal operator with more than 100 employees, building its technology infrastructure, its integrations and the first procedure library the company ever had.

He leads with results over certifications: practical, proven and fast. When you call, you reach the person doing the work.

The mark is the family name, Miyashiro (宮代), read top to bottom. Tom was born in the United States, and the name is his link to the generations before him.

A share of what the firm earns supports Faith 2 Faith Ministries.

Josiah Yano

Josiah Yano · Field Tech

Josiah has worked alongside Tom for more than ten years, from volunteer to administration to supporting the IT side of the organizations Tom leads. He keeps the network maps, reconciles data between payroll and benefits systems, and is building a mobile app of his own.

Josiah was also an award-winning mentor for at-risk students in public schools. Students who were failing turned it around, graduated and went on to college, and some played college sports and earned their degrees.

As Field Tech he is the hands on site, building and installing what Tom designs. When he trains your team, he brings the same patience he gave those students, and he stays with each person until they can run it themselves.
